Bright Futures Camp - International Adoption

There are millions of children living in orphanages around the globe. These children will likely never experience the love and nurturing that a forever family can provide. It is Gladney's hope that the annual "Bright Futures Camp" will increase awareness of the need for international adoption and help orphans around the world. The mission of the camp is to build positive awareness of international adoption and increase awareness of the many more children in orphanages needing permanent homes.

Bright Futures Camp - Ethiopia
The next Bright Futures Camp is scheduled for Summer 2008. The children, whose ages range from 6 to 16 years old, will be treated to 14 fun-filled days and a chance to live with a prospective adoptive family. All of the children have been medically cleared by a U.S. Embassy approved doctor. Read The New Wolfepack for a happy ending to a story of the 2007 Camp!

The Gladney Center for Adoption is looking for families to fill various roles during these children's visit to the United States.

Step One: Please complete a brief Information Sheet that gives you an opportunity to share information about your family.
Step Two: Once your Information Sheet is received, you will be contacted to schedule a one-on-one orientation with a Gladney staff member.

Important Dates

February 16, 2008 - Older Child Adoption and Bright Futures Camp Information Session. Register today!
March 24, 2008 - Last day for intake of Bright Futures Camp families for summer camp
March 31, 2008 - Family Gladney application paperwork and home study payment due to Gladney
April 30 - Gladney application group #1 due (includes home study payment of $1500)
May 12 - Gladney application group #2 due
May 26 - Gladney application group #3 due
Late May - Family Training
June 23 - Sponsor fee of $1500 for each child hosted and any remaining paperwork due to Gladney
Late June - Camp family training day for NY families
Mid July - Camp family training day for TX families (date and location dependent on participating families)
August 10-25 - Bright Futures Camp - Ethiopia
September 12 - Program deposit (1/2 program fee – dependent on number of siblings being adopted) due
